Each Thomas Bird shoe style is based on a three dimensional 'last'. This determines the look and the fit. Some styles share the same last. These descriptions give some guidance to fit and sizing.

Last 64 - Benson/Ellington/Buckingham

Slightly chiselled toe. Fits true to size. Being an Oxford lace up, they're only suitable for wearers with standard height instep. If you are inbetween sizes, then we normally recommend dropping down to the nearest whole size.

Last 98 - Bourne/Cambridge/Eastwood/Stirling/Hamilton

Rounded toe. Fits ever so slightly generous by around a quarter size. With leather insoles, they fit true to size. If you are inbetween sizes, then we normally recommend dropping down to the nearest whole size.

Last 07 - Harrow, Brighton, Camden, Soho, Milan

Slightly chiselled toe. Fits ever so slightly generous by around a quarter size. With leather insoles, they fit true to size. If you are inbetween sizes, then we normally recommend dropping down to the nearest whole size.

Last 22 - Henley

Rounded toe. Fits true to size. They're only suitable for wearers with standard height instep and standard width feet. If you are inbetween sizes, then we normally recommend dropping down to the nearest whole size.

Last 41 Hampton

Slightly chiselled toe. Fits true to size. If you are inbetween sizes, then we normally recommend dropping down to the nearest whole size.

Last 14 - Brooklyn

Last 53 - Mayfair

Rounded toe. Fits true to size. If you are inbetween sizes, then we normally recommend dropping down to the nearest whole size.

Last 88 - Memphis, Vincent, Manhattan

Narrow rounded toe. Fits true to size. Unsuitable for wearers with a high instep or anything wider than 'standard' foot width. If you are inbetween sizes, then we recommend grading up and purchasing leather insoles.

Last 84 - Phoenix

Chiselled wider toe. Fits true to size. Unsuitable for wearers with a high instep or anything wider than 'standard' foot width. If you are inbetween sizes, then we recommend grading up and purchasingleather insoles.

Last 32 - Montana

Fits slightly generous by around a quarter size. Designed to be worn with a thicker sock. If you normally take a half size, then we normally recommend dropping down to the nearest whole size.
