Mens suede chelsea boots
Suede chelsea boots have a special quality all of their own. It's hard to define, but you know when you see it, and when you're wearing them. Once you're a fan, you're hooked.
The chelsea boot has a long history of being cool, associated with sixties London, Hollywood, and it's still the boot of choice for stylish men worldwide. Leather chelsea boots can even step is as a dress shoe, worn with a business suit in the office and boardroom.
The suede chelsea though has a different feel - more casual, relaxed and informal. They are more associated with jeans or chinos and a care-free attitude.
Thomas Bird currently offers a selection of different suede chelsea boots.
We offer four styles of chelsea boot - Eastwood, Manhattan, Stirling and Milan
All are made in Italy with fine quality suede, calf linings and stitched soles.
Eastwood is now available in 7 suede colours - tan, grey, burgundy, black, blue, sand and brown which comes with regular sole and vibram rubber sole. Eastwood is a classic chelsea with Italian lines and a rubber, hard wearing insert in the sole.
Our other chelsea, Manhattan, is available in black suede, black calf and tan suede. These chelsea boots feature a higher 40mm heel and are cut slightly higher up the ankle.
Let's first start off by showing some of our most popular suede Chelsea boots. Here we have the tan and grey suede Chelsea Boots. Popular due to their subtle yet stand out colour, they go with almost any outfits. The high quality suede leathers are hand dyed in Italy and really help to complete the overall look and feel of the Chelsea Boots.
The photo below shows Eastwood in grey suede being worn with blue jeans. Grey suede also looks good with black jeans and even a grey or black suit.
Two more favourable suede colours are Burgundy and black. Burgendy is similar to our oxblood calf leather shoes and boots so we had to bring it out in a sued version, it went down a treat.
Black boots will never go out of fashion, and our Eastwood Chelsea Boot in Black Suede is a classic boot that looks amazing and can accompany any outfit.
Next are two relatively new additions to the suede chelsea boot collection, with navy blue and sand suede. These aren't the classic colours that come to mind when you think of suede Chelsea Boots, but adding them to our collections though feedback from our customers we're really pleased with the the outcome. Subtle yet beautiful and can be worn either smart or casual.
The dark brown suede chelsea boots (below left) also go well with blue jeans, but also a classic contrast with light chinos - the very cool retro sixties look inspired by icons such as Steve McQueen.
Here's our new suede chelsea boot with Vibram rubber sole (above right/below). We've added four vibram sole Chelsea Boots to the collection including this one in brown suede. The hard wearing Vibram rubber sole is stitched onto the upper with a traditional Italian method called Blake Stitching. This an in-channel, lock stitching technique, so even if one stitch was worn the others will still be locked securely in place. And being stitched the sole can be replaced when it eventually wears.
Finally, here's Manhattan, with it's sleek silhouette, higher 40mm heel, this Italian black suede chelsea boot is so versatile, pairing well with blue, black or as seen below, contrasting white jeans. It features an all-leather sole, super soft calf leather linings and other features that makes it a premium chelsea boot.
Manhattan Chelsea boot also comes in tan suede, and black calf leather.
